The Republic of San Marino - State located on Monte Titano (739 m above sea level), is one of the smallest and oldest states in the world. The Republic of San Marino has in fact always been independent and numerous attempts to conquer it have ended in failure. The republic is made up of 6 medieval cities - fortresses (Borghi), scattered on the slopes of Mount Titano.
The capital of the state is the city of the same name, San Marino. Walking along it you will be surprised by the preservation of numerous houses, public buildings, churches and palaces. The central square of this small city is also where the Government Palace is located, where elections of heads of state are held twice a year.
In San Marino it is possible to taste and purchase the famous fruit and herb liqueurs, as well as locally produced sweet wines.
San Marino is a shopping paradise thanks to duty-free shopping.
For motor sports enthusiasts, you should know that San Marino hosts the international car competitions Rally San Marino and the Mille Miglia retro car races.
In summer San Marino hosts international festivals and also organizes a series of themed shows.
